Real stories behind moves may take a while to report

While I agree with some of the points made in Comment (DW 3 July), I believe that not all those named actually chose to leave the consultancies they led.

Current economic challenges call for changes to business models, no doubt. Whatever people are saying in public, not all moves were self-motivated. A certain amount of face-saving is evident here.

The Charles Trevail issue is interesting as he has been so overt in his comments about the benefits of big over small. I hope you can get him to explain his next intent and how that sits with his recent comments.

I agree with your comments that such moves can be good for design. Unexpected change often works wonders, although some of those named have been abruptly stopped from developing what they believed to be workable and forced to change direction, regardless of their beliefs.
