Four jobs axed at Siebert Head

Branding and packaging specialist Siebert Head has axed four jobs from its London office. The move is part of plans to “refocus” the business, according to sales and marketing director Satkar Gidda.

“We have let four people go, including one unnamed middleweight [designer] and three administrative staff, in an effort to realign the business,” he says.

But Gidda expects two new appointments to be confirmed during the next three weeks. “More resources are going to the account servicing side and we are recruiting a senior account director and someone on the strategic planning side. We won’t be recruiting another designer though.”

Gidda denies the consultancy has lost any “major business”, but admits its “strategic offering needs to improve. More overseas business needs to be done. As an organisation we have been missing that and we will reposition ourselves to meet the demands of our clients.

“We are not creating permanent bases overseas, but we will increase the number of staff in the five-strong Warsaw office as long as business merits it.”

The consultancy employs a total of 35 UK staff, with a further five in Warsaw.
