Playing with your food is a seaside record

Who said vinyl was dead? Royal College of Art product design students Hugo Glover and Paul Cocksedge have taken12-inch records and turned them into ‘record bowls’.

The bowls were first seen at the Milan Furniture Fair in April, where a limited run of 100 were ‘recorded’ prior to being melted down, with the tracks available on-line. And the name of the guys’ concept? ‘Welcome to the seaside’ – geddit?.

The record bowls are on sale for about £40 in London shops, including American Retro and DKNY in Bond Street.
