Smash: Murano glass exhibition

The Design Museum is showcasing a collection of Murano glass, entitled Smash, designed by Italian group Covo, from 28 September until 4 November.

The famed artisanal Italian glass manufacturer is continuing its drive to modernise and distance itself further from its ‘kitsch Venice tourist trade’ associations.

Smash creative director Emmanuel Babled has commissioned eight designers to create pieces for the range: Jeffrey Bernett, Stephen Burks, Marre Moerel, Stefano Giovannoni (Polifemo), James Irvine, Ritsue Mishima, Jerszy Seymour and Richard Hutten.
