Furniture role for Arad at RCA

Ron Arad has been appointed Professor of furniture at the Royal College of Art, replacing Floris van den Broecke who stands down after 12 years (DW 21 February). He will not be taking on van den Broecke’s full role which included heading up the architecture and furniture schools.

Arad says “This course should be the best in the world, but it needs a change. It has been too much based on making. The world is changing and that should be reflected.”

Meanwhile, a decision on a head for architecture, interiors and furniture is still pending.
