‘We are not amused,’ says Adrianne LeMan

Making jokes at the expense of the Chartered Society of Designers may be unwise at the moment. President Adrianne LeMan has written to the Independent Television Commission to complain about advertisements by food giant McDonalds which suggest interior designers get ‘money for nothing’.

A reply from an ITC advertising standards officer stating, ‘We cannot agree that any harm is likely to result from this advertising’, has not placated LeMan. ‘It is sad to see a major organisation espousing such an uninformed view,’ she says.
