London design groups create interior for The Pool

London design groups Forster Inc and Sponge Design have collaborated to create interiors and furniture for the latest addition to London’s popular Shoreditch scene – a bar and restaurant called The Pool – which opened on Saturday. Owned by restaurateurs Mark Turner and Raj Nayak, the new venue has several pool tables, bars on two levels, a low seat lounge and a dance floor. Materials include reclaimed teak, dark brown mosaic tiles, deeply stained floor and a colour palette of greens and deep reds. Forster Inc partner Rachel Forster describes it as ‘not completely of the moment’ but classy with a bit of a twist about it. The look and feel is a comfortable yet animated environment in which the mix of uses overlap. A use of strong colours and rich textural materials invites people in to spend time feeling warm and at ease.
