Rahmouni home-brew for W’Sens

Imaad Rahmouni, a protégé of Philippe Starck, has designed the interiors and identity for W’Sens, a London restaurant and lounge bar due to open this week.

W’Sens is the latest project to be launched by Michelin-star chefs Jacques and Laurent Pourcel and their partner Olivier Chateau. The unusual name references the brothers’ flagship three-star Michelin restaurant, Les Jardin Des Sens in Montpelier, France, while the ‘W’ signifies the restaurant’s location on Waterloo Place.

W’Sens will form part of the La Compagnie des Comptoirs portfolio of restaurants developed by the French entrepreneurs over the past four years, with sites in Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore and Shanghai.

The 120-seat restaurant, located in a Grade II-listed building between Pall Mall and Piccadilly, will be set over two floors and will ‘recreate a homely feeling, with lots of small spaces,’ says Imaad.

Imaad has designed the brand, logo, restaurant and lounge space, including furniture for W’Sens.

W’Sens opens on 7 December.
