DTI sets up ‘envisioning centre’

The Department of Trade and Industry is launching an “envisioning centre – a space for creative and strategic thinking” in an effort to radically change the way it operates.

In a joint venture with IT software company ICL, the project, which is due to be launched this spring, is aimed at both the public and private sectors and will enable users to develop and share visions of the future.

Nick Butterfield Design has been appointed to develop interiors and graphics for the 300m2 facility in central London. NBDesign managing director Nick Butterfield says: “The facility has three core experience areas – the interactive environment zone, the creativity lab and the immersive virtual reality theatre. VR, scenario planning and creativity brainstorming techniques will be used to catalyse and spark new thought.”
