Designer of the Year runs from 4 March to 18 June at The Design Museum. The public can vote for their favourite of the four shortlisted designers. Also at the Design Museum on 6 March, Peter Ayres of Faber Maunsell gives a talk on the challenge of designing the Halley VI Scientific Research Station.

Ceramic Art London, a selling exhibition, runs from 3 to 5 March. Work ranges from tableware to figure groups and from vases to wall pieces.

Got the Message? Advertising meets interactive design is on 2 March at 6.15pm. It will explore what these disciplines can learn from each other.

Paradise Transformed: Private Gardens for the 21st Century is at 7.15pm on 8 March, with Gordon Taylor and Guy Cooper unearthing the themes and thought processes behind the creation of private gardens.

Inclusive Design is on 9 March and continues the RCA’s Anglo-Dutch debate series, exploring what designers are doing to create environments and products that are accessible to people right across society.
