Haley Sharpe Design swings treetop brief

Haley Sharpe Design has completed an Indiana Jones-style visitor attraction in Leicestershire.

The Tree Tops Adventure Walk has been designed for the Conkers activity centre, based in Moira, near Ashby-de-la-Zouch, and is described by Haley Sharpe creative lead Scott Alexander as ‘a precipitous journey starting high above the treetops’.

Visitors are able to teeter on the edge of a precipice, with only a rope bridge to hold them, as well as feel their way around a pitch black bat-filled cave, he explains. For the daring, there is even a disused mineshaft to slide down.

The consultancy was appointed to create the walk for the Heart of the National Forest Foundation, at the beginning of the year.

Haley Sharpe collaborated with York activity specialist Scenic Route to develop its creations for the walk, which will be officially opened tomorrow by Martin Briggs, chief executive of the East Midlands Development Agency, and chairman of the Heart of the National Forest Foundation Nicolas Corah.
