B&W mixes unified branding for house DJ Steve Angello

House music DJ and producer Steve Angello is unifying his record label, live events and album recordings under a visual identity by Leeds consultancy B&W.

The project involves creating a primary marque and developing an illustrative style for use across Angello’s main DJ ’brand’, his record label Size and the events strand Size Matters.

’Previously, each aspect was a one-off and separate, so our job was to rationalise them into a whole, while retaining some individual identity for the different activities. Overall, we wanted the identity to capture the energy and excitement of dance music.’

B&W secured the work last month after winning a credentials and proposal pitch against undisclosed groups, says B&W creative director Steven Wills. The first manifestation of the identity has been applied to the cover of Size Matters Mixed By Steve Angello & AN21 (pictured), and B&W will shortly begin the redesign of Angello’s website.
