Gioia Olivastri’s first solo exhibition

Italian artist Gioia Olivastri, who trained under designer Emilio Pucci, launches her first UK solo exhibition, Blanche EtE, this week.

The exhibition bears the hallmarks of an interest in craft and the quality of different materials. Twisted metal, terracotta, silken thread and medical gauze all feature in her work, which offers an unsettling and unusual take on fashion accessories including handbags, necklaces, rings and ornaments.

Olivastri, who lives and works in Milan, also worked as an illustrator for the Italian magazine Fashion. The exhibition runs from 21 June to 15 July at Studio Caparrelli, Flat D, 44 Branham Gardens, London SW5.
