Springpoint is to merge into Interpublic Group stablemate FutureBrand, according to industry reports this week.

Sources close to the groups say a decision was made last week in the US to detach London-based Springpoint from its current IPG parent, Golin/ Harris International.

The name Springpoint is expected to be dropped. It is not known whether the consultancy’s founders Fiona Gilmore and Mark Pearce will stay. Neither were available for comment

A spokeswoman for FutureBrand says the group ‘is not merging with or acquiring’ Springpoint.

Springpoint, which has offices in London and China, was merged with IPG-owned Luxon Carrà in October 2002.
