Ashleycarter extends club brand abroad

Ashleycarter Design has created the branding for two bar/ club venues in Ibiza Town and Istanbul, opened by London club Chinawhite last week.

The interiors for bar The Mao Rooms in Ibiza Town and the Chinawhite club in Istanbul have been designed by Cara Sakmoto and club co-owner Rory Keegan.

Along with Ashleycarter, it is the same design team that created the branding and interiors for Chinawhite’s London venue.

The Mao Rooms logo is based on the original Chinawhite logo, with “By Chinawhite” below. The logo for Chinawhite Istanbul remains unchanged from the London original.

The Mao Rooms, which is intended to address the lack of pre-club cocktail venues in Ibiza, features raised platforms, daybeds and a first-floor balcony.

Chinawhite Istanbul is a 4000-capacity venue, which features a 120-seat fine-dining restaurant and a swimming pool.

“We decided on these sites because both Istanbul and Ibiza are real party capitals. Regarding design of the interiors, neither of the venues are a radical departure from our London club format,” says Chinawhite’s John Stephen.
