The Scottish Show takes on hair and fashion

The organisers of The Scottish Show have revealed that it will include fashion and hair design this year, for the first time since its inauguration in 2004.

‘We wanted to show that it’s not just about us selecting design – it’s about the public making up its own mind about what design is. Hopefully, by bringing in disciplines like hair design, we are challenging people to think about what design really is,’ says curator Leonie Bell.

The exhibition, organised by The Lighthouse in conjunction with the Six Cities Festival to promote Scottish design to both commercial and public audiences, has grown to almost three times its original size and will now feature the work of 34 designers, including Olanic, Graven Images, ISO and individual designers working across graphics, fashion, textiles, jewellery and product design.
