Job seeker attempts to sell his interview skills
I’m writing in reference to a letter by designer Chris Prior (DW 5 December). I am glad Prior has found a new job within three weeks of applying and this is encouraging to those currently working in the design industry.

I am glad Prior has found a new job within three weeks of applying and this is encouraging to those currently working in the design industry. Things are a little different if you are a design graduate seeking your first job.
After four months of applying I have yet to secure an interview, let alone a job. I am confident in my simple, but stylish CV and honest portfolio, which I have sent to many consultancies. There seems to be very few available positions out there, for those that do exist, work experience seems to be a requirement.
I was pleased to achieve my 2.1 honours degree and I continue to work on my own projects and keep my passion for creation alive.
As Prior put it, designers may have a lack of interview skills. I would welcome the opportunity to practise mine.
