The Open Agency scaled down its client and staff bash this year because, well, in the words of managing director Mike Horseman, ‘Budgets are tight and clients are wondering why designers seem to charge too much.’ So it took everyone to the Embassy World Darts for a game of arrows. Ted (three-in-a-bed) Hankey landed a few on the board and, as legendary darts commentator Sid Waddell puts it, everyone burnt ‘the midnight oil at both ends’. It couldn’t have got more exciting if Elvis walked in with a bag of chips ( Waddell). Now that’s magic.
