Socialist Workers log on to tory-party.co.uk

The Internet should be a powerful tool in the war for votes. But research by Internet brand management consultancy NetNames found that the main political parties are failing to register simple variations of their party titles as domain names.

Hit newlabour.co.uk and you are told, ‘this site is up for sale’ and directed to the Conservatives’ official site. Unsuspecting right-wingers logging on to tory-party.co.uk must be horrified to find they are directed to the Socialist Worker’s site. Meanwhile, lib-dems.com is there ‘to counter misleading information put out by the Liberal Democrats’. Information? What information?
