Sorrell’s sharp tongue over rivals
WPP chief executive Martin Sorrell accused rival marketing services networks of engaging in ‘desperate’ behaviour to win business and attract top staff, according to reports this week. At a conference in Barcelona, Sorrell is quoted as describing Interpublic Group, which owns FutureBrand and Jack Morton Worldwide, as a ‘wounded animal’, with ‘little cost control in terms of hiring people’.
