Mental health trust branding gets makeover

Design House has created new branding for Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust.

The consultancy was appointed to the project in November 2008 following a tender process. It was tasked with looking at the organisation’s visual identity and communications strategy.

Following an extensive research programme involving key stakeholders including employees and service users, Design House created the Better Together marque. This is accompanied by a visual device using different coloured lines which, according to Design House creative director John-Paul Hunter, represent the different services offered by the trust.

In the imagery for the trust, the lines are used to highlight one out of every four people pictured, referencing the fact that mental health issues affect one in four people.

The new branding launches today at the trust’s annual general meeting.
