DW all set for redesign and blog launch

Design Week will unveil a redesign next week (DW 4 March), led by art director Sam Freeman.

The new look will see the introduction of Akkurat fonts from Line To, replacing Univers. A new seven-column grid will allow for more flexibility.

The magazine will be thinner and taller, with a new trim size and new paper stock, Skye Coated Extra Matt 90gsm.

A more illustrative feel will be brought to the magazine, with five illustrators, including Ben Tallon, Andy Potts and Christiana Coucelro, producing a commissioned illustration for the Private View section each week, on rotation.

To coincide with the relaunch, Design Week will launch a blog on www.designweek.co.uk. This will cover news, gossip and developments in the design world in an informal and light-hearted manner.

The blog will be free, while all magazine and website content, other than the blog, will be available to subscribers only.
