Communicating design; Twilight: absent objects, empty rooms; 2001 Scottish Design Awards; Personal Landscape – Emotional Figure

Communicating design, a display of commercial graphic design from brief to finished product, takes place from 4 May until 31 August. Featuring the work of design consultancies North, Navy Blue and Digit, the show will focus on brand identity, packaging, corporate identity, website and book design.

New work by Martin Newth and Paul Tecklenberg shows at Twilight: absent objects, empty rooms, until 10 June. The pair take everyday objects and space, and transform them using digital and photographic technology.

Venue: Standpoint Gallery, 45 Coronet Street, London N1.

The nominations for successful applications to the 2001 Scottish Design Awards will be revealed in an exhibition open to the public until 24 May. The international panel of judges, chaired by Javier Mariscal of Barcelona-based Estudio Mariscal selected the winning projects in February.

Marie Mackay-Hyde exhibits her paintings, made from other people’s photographs from magazines and supplements, at Personal Landscape – Emotional Figure from 30 April until 5 May.
