Fashion is just capitalism dressed up as design

All disciplines in design converge in the mind of the public.

While there is awareness of fashion design, there is opportunity to promote associated skills and learn new tricks (Vox Pop, DW 19 February).

Fashion design is, after all, the most blatant use of design to provide the currency for capitalism to work, by making last year’s must-

haves this year’s passé product.
