XMPR has completed a corporate identity for Ferrovie dello Stato spA, the Italian State Railways. FS is one of the largest rail systems of its kind in Europe, and the identity will be implemented in some 2000 stations.
The design underplays the words dello stato, as the client wanted to appear “less state-owned”, according to XMPR managing director Rob Davie. The identity is part of an Italy-wide campaign to improve national perception of the railways.
