Retail specialist Rodney Fitch & Co has been appointed by rapidly-expanding mobile communications retailer Phones 4u.
The consultancy won the project on the strength of its previous experience in the European telecommunications market, and a credentials presentation.
Although no decision has been taken as to exactly where it will be situated, Rodney Fitch & Co has been asked to create the interiors, exteriors and branding for a new flagship store that is scheduled to open in July.
The London group has undertaken a series of workshops with company staff to build a master vision that will strongly feature interactive elements.
The new design, which will subsequently be rolled out across the chain’s 75 existing UK outlets, will be a “highly distinctive and individualistic retail design proposition, which communicates the strengths of the Phones 4u brand to consumers,” explains Rodney Fitch director Neil Whitehead.
The new flagship store will showcase a broad range of communications offers, particularly the growing pre-paid mobile phone sector.
In addition, the retailer – which works with all four major mobile networks and has its own in-house service provider – aims to double the number of its present shops to 150 by the end of next year.
