Italian industrial group Giugiaro Design Team has collaborated on the creation of a basketball design for leading sports manufacturer Molten, with what it claims to be a revolutionary ball form. The Molten G-Series ball is made up of 12 panels, an innovative addition because traditionally basketballs have just eight panels. The ball features revamped mechanisms, such as flattened seams to help the player achieve a constant backspin and a smoother finish to improve grip and control. The design has been approved by the International Basketball Federation and will launch in shops across the UK at the beginning of next year.
