Circle Design brands ethnic commission

Circle Design has created the logo for the independent Commission on the Future of Multi-Ethnic Britain, set up by the Runnymede Trust and funded by the Nuffield, Hamlyn and Rowntree trusts.

The commission launched on Tuesday, and will look at whether the UK’s social and political institutions are properly qualified to cater for a multi-ethnic Britain.

“With a lot of racial projects people focus on similarities. But this is about diversity and so we have created a diverse, multicoloured logo to represent that diversity, but with a coherent feel to it, to represent the fact that these groups all belong to the same country,” says Circle designer William Hall.

The identity has been applied to the commission’s stationery and a booklet setting out the organisation’s aims.
