Charlie in polo shirt mystery

It’s not often that Carter Wong & Partners designer Toby Glover buys Hello (so he says), but when a recent issue hit the newsagents he rushed out for his copy and sent it straight to his mum.

The 3 June issue of the full-on full-colour fulla smarmy gossip mag featured a logo designed by Toby and worn by our future king.

Athletic Charlie was sporting a polo shirt identifying him as a member of a polo team owned by a client of Carter Wong’s. Group director Phil Carter was cagey about the mystery man, simply stating: “He’s a bit of a recluse and polo’s his hobby”.

The client, who has backing from telecommunications giant Alcatel, wanted an identity for his team, which was completed at top speed by Glover.

The quality of the shirt, says Carter, is “absolutely phenomenal, it feels brilliant to touch”. No wonder Charlie looks so cheerful.
