Ford is cutting 43 of its 48 design staff in Turin as it switches focus from a traditional ‘coachbuilder’ to an electronic studio. They have been offered opportunities in other Ford design studios. The office will continue to work with production studios in Dunton and Cologne, and the move does not affect the opening of Ford’s London design centre this summer, according to a spokeswoman.
