Edinburgh department store Jenners has unveiled a redesigned toy department, with concepts by Skakel & Skakel.

The 500 000 project is part of an on-going refurbishment plan for Jenners, which is the oldest department store in the world according to an S&S spokeswoman. The Edinburgh consultancy has already redesigned the store’s restaurant areas.

S&S was briefed to create a concept which “reflected Jenners’ sense of heritage and pride using a mixture of materials to create a colourful environment”, says the spokeswoman.

“We used special features like a decorated floor and stars on the ceiling to create a lively atmosphere while working around toy brand identities at the same time,” says the spokeswoman.
