CBI looking to change name

The Confederation of British Industry is considering a name change, but has yet to make a final decision on whether the project will take place, or on who within the CBI will handle it.

A CBI spokesman says that if a name change is approved, it will not happen until next year at the earliest. “We have taken an internal decision that it may be time to take a look at our branding and how we use it,” he says.

While the CBI’s name might change, it is equally likely that it won’t, he adds. No design or branding consultancies have yet been approached.
