The annual Association Typographique Internationale conference will take place in Leipzig, Germany, from 21-24 September. The event aims to mix historical aspects of type and typography with the latest activities in type design and technology. The conference will be co-chaired by Erik Spiekermann and Eckehart Schumacher-Gebler, of Leipzig design museum.

The 2nd European Internet Seminar The European Network Revolution takes place in Amsterdam from 14-18 August. The seminar/ summer school is aimed at graduate students and young professionals and aims to explore the complex relationship between government, industry and society in the transition to an information society.
