Shortlist for UK Expo pavilions

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has drawn up an eight-strong shortlist for the design of the UK pavilions for Expo ’98 Lisbon and Expo 2000 Hanover.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has drawn up an eight-strong shortlist for the design of the UK pavilions for Expo ’98 Lisbon and Expo 2000 Hanover.

The shortlisted consultancies are Event Communications, Imagination, MICE Group, Zig Zag Design, Group Expo, HP:ICM, a consortium led by MTA Csáky and another led by 2LK. The line-up was chosen from 47 consultancies.

The UK pavilion for Lisbon will feature an innovative thematic display on the expo’s theme, Oceans. Expo 2000’s theme is Mankind: Nature: Technology.

One consultancy will carry out both jobs after the paid creative pitch, with unsuccessful groups receiving 1000 each. The winner is to be announced in March.
