DTI probe into Business Link

A leaked Department of Trade and Industry document on the financial viability of Business Link after the three-year start-up period could trigger a Commons trade and industry committee inquiry.

Reports in the Financial Times say the committee’s chairman Richard Caborn has asked President of the Board of Trade Michael Heseltine for copies of an internal audit report into the one-stop shops.

The report says the Links could be at risk financially after the start-up period ends.

The DTI refuses to comment on any possible inquiry.
