Stylorouge creatives set sail on new route

Stylorouge art directors Chris Thomson and Richard Bull are leaving the graphics group, known for its music industry work, to run their own consultancy called Yacht Associates.

To be based initially in London’s Shepherd’s Bush, Yacht Associates will comprise Thomson and Bull only.

Thomson says he and Bull have been doing their “own stuff” in addition to their work at Stylo- rouge, and leaving to set up together is a natural step.

One of their projects is an identity for south coast surfboard brand Reeform (pictured), which is now being applied to boards.

Yacht Associates will continue to work with the music industry but will also take on more multimedia work, possibly for museums and art galleries, adds Thomson.

Stylorouge’s managing director Rob O’Connor says: “We’ve got eight art directors all together and we will definitely replace Thompson and Bull.”

O’Connor already has a shortlist of potential people as “we were thinking of expanding our numbers anyway”, he says.
