CSD puts on multimedia event

The Tower of London is the setting for the first of a series of multimedia events run by the Chartered Society of Designers and supported by Design Week.

Called Ancient and Modern, the series of six events is being organised by the CSD’s graphics group and will explore the impact of multimedia in settings of momentous events of the past.

At the Tower of London on 26 September, graphics pioneer Malcolm Garrett of AMX Digital and Bob Cotton, author of Understanding Hypermedia, will be joined by Internet experts Renee Martin and Ava Pescoe of the Cyberia Café.

Cotton explains hypermedia’s importance: “Designers need to come up to speed on this in order to creatively face the challenges… of the 21st century.”

The second event will be at the House of Commons on 21 November, the subject being multimedia in publishing. For tickets, contact Fiona Chapman, events manager at the CSD, on 0171-631 1510.
