SAS in at the Deepend over stolen BIMA Trophy

The anxious wait to find the thieves and ensure the safe return of Deepend’s missing BIMA Trophy (DW 7 July) is finally over.

Following an ongoing saga featuring virtual ransom demands and threats over the Web between Deepend and the anonymous thief, SAS Design finally gave in to the might of a large naked man wielding a baseball bat . ‘… We couldn’t get a crate, so here’s a barrel,’ said Deepend in response to demands for beer at the time.

A grateful Deepend spokeswoman says: ‘The trophy was stolen from our table at the awards ceremony in a moment of drunken bravado. But having faced the wrath of the big fella and other armed Deependers, the designers at SAS came clean last week.

‘The award is now safely in its rightful place.’
