United Biscuits subsidiary McVitie’s is putting the finishing touches to its first formal design and publicity roster.
As Design Week went to press a McVitie’s spokesman acknowleged the roster but declined to comment on its likely length or contents.
“McVitie’s is drawing up a roster of design consultancies in order to develop long-term strategic alliances,” he says.
In recent years the client has used a number of different design consultancies on a regular basis. These include Set Square, Design Bridge (whose work included McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes range and the company’s existing logo), Coley Porter Bell (on Apple and Toffee Pie), Graphique Design, CGI, Jones Knowles Ritchie (on Mini Cookies and Jaspers) and Springett.
All these groups claim to have heard nothing from McVitie’s about the roster.
McVitie’s has just relaunched its Export Sevilia brand on the Russian market with packaging by Set Square (DW 30 January).
