Chopper rides again, but shame about the gears

No, no, no. Apart from the ‘Hell’s Angel’-inspired Chopper styling, the whole fun of the Chopper bike was its unique, centrally placed gear shift.

As a kid, when I wasn’t slung back in that long chopper seat, I could switch pretend vehicles and imagine I was driving a Ford Zephyr with automatic gear shift.

While my imagination stretched the boundaries a bit, it was exactly that gear shift I’d hoped to see returned once more. What a shame.
