Sorrells launch proactive plan

Former Design Council chairman John Sorrell is using The Sorrell Foundation, the charity set up with wife Frances after they left Interbrand last year, to help design become more proactive.

This week it launched seven “prototype” projects, part of its Joined up Learning for Schools initiative. The Sorrells are also keen to use design to improve the life of staff, inmates and patients in the health service and prisons.

Sorrell says the aim of the foundation is “to inspire creativity through young people and improve the quality of life through design”.
