Cardiff design group Departures Design has created the new identity for the Welsh political party Plaid Cymru.

Urban Design Group Architype has designed the Genesis Centre, a £2.5m learning and resource unit, based at Somerset College of Arts and Technology, which will showcase techniques and materials for sustainable construction. The centre (pictured) opened last week.

Product design consultancy Alloy has created a multimedia handset concept called Polygon, designed to offer high resolution TV viewing, as well as telephony. Alloy says that Polygon is based on technology likely to be practical in two years’ time.
