Bournemouth and Poole College of Art & Design is hoping to “refresh” its governing board by inviting design consultants to become members.

There are 17 current board members, all of whom are designers or “engaged in some aspect of the profession”, says the college’s principal and chief executive Tony Marshall. They include Colin Banks of Banks & Miles and illustrator David Bradley.

According to Marshall, there have been resignations from the governing body due to “changes in employment”. He seeks to “refresh the board by introducing new blood”.

Members of the board offer advice on course structure, assess students’ course work and provide work experience.

The college offers courses in all design disciplines at further and higher education levels.
