Design House lay-offs

Design House has laid off six people, including one designer. Managing director John Larkin says the redundancies are a ‘small trimming exercise aimed at reducing our cost base’.

The group has 19 full-time designers and Larkin says there are no plans to cut back further. ‘We’re in good shape, but we’ve had a difficult quarter. If we don’t do this we may not be in such good shape so it’s a preventative measure,’ he says.
