Press denied fizz at the Testino Portraits exhibition

Having missed out on the celebrity evening launch with Moss, Madonna et al, Design Week staff had to settle for second best with the daytime press event of the Mario Testino Portraits exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery.

Photos of Liz Hurley scantily clad (pictured) and Meg Ryan could hardly boost the glamour effect, as the lack of champagne from the official sponsor, Dom Pérignon, was sadly noted.

Stone cold sober there was no choice but to turn attentions to Testino’s craft and we were dismayed to notice how some of the large prints had been wonkily wallpapered together.

If only they had given us that glass or two we might have appreciated them more.
