British Council teams don’t lose any players

If we’re axing our in-house design team then it’s news to us! (Cover line DW 2 August).

Christopher Wade runs a small exhibitions unit in the British Council [but the unit has no in-house designers]. We have over a dozen qualified designers throughout the council, plus editorial, procurement and technical specialists. Our corporate design team manages an international identity in over 109 countries in all areas of the visual environment – from architecture through to graphics and print. With the launch of our World Wide Web site we are now developing skills in digital media. We have a great team here and we like to believe we have an excellent relationship with the design community.

We work with a whole range of British design consultants and will continue to do so. Our in-house teams will carry on flourishing.
