SomeOne brands jewellery start-up

London design consultancy SomeOne has created the launch branding for start-up jewellery business Scanlan & Sequino.

The bespoke jewellery maker, which is being set up by founding partners Frances Sequino, Gian Paolo Scanlan and Virginia Priest, will specialise in what it calls a ‘concierge-style’ approach to designing and selling jewellery.

It aims to differentiate itself from other groups in the sector by offering personalised consultations for commissions.

‘Essentially, it will come to you to take briefs and suggest ideas,’ explains SomeOne founder Simon Manchipp.

‘We’ve worked with Scanlan & Sequino for a while now. We created the branding for its occasional range Beaut, and the company came back and asked us to create the branding for its new fine jewellery range with its distinctive product and service offer,’ he adds.

SomeOne designer Vicki Legg, the lead creative on the project, says, ‘The jewellery sector is awash with really bland branding. Much of it says nothing about a client’s business, so we thought it was time to create some gems of our own.’

Scanlan & Sequino is to open for business this month in London’s Monmouth Street, from where it will operate a retail outlet with in-store graphics by SomeOne. The group is also planning to launch a website, which is being designed in-house.

SomeOne won the branding project without a pitch.
