CPB ends up tapping into student’s creativity

Third-year Brighton University graphic design student David Atkinson has emerged as the lucky winner of Shine 2001, a competition launched this year by Coley Porter Bell.

A shortlist of 15 presented their portfolios at CPB’s offices and eight finalists were tasked with creating a poster to promote Shine 2002.

Atkinson netted the top prize of £5000 plus a year’s guaranteed employment at CPB and will join the consultancy in August 2002 after he finishes his course and graduates.

In the meantime, the creative team will be ‘monitoring and supporting his creative development’.

Given the sort of thing that students usually spend their time creating and developing it is hoped that CPB representatives have got a sense of humour.
