Different by Design lights up 100% Design

The latest three design projects funded by Different by Design, the Staffordshire venture set up to aid new product development, will be exhibited at 100% Design in London this month.

Products to be exhibited there will include an Onion Pendant Light by ceramics company Scabetti (pictured below left), which is comprised of two bone china halves, and the Unruly Limb lamp by Sheldon Cooney (pictured above). Another ceramics company, Item, will show its Inori sushi set, which can be stacked together to form a sculpture, and its Kou chandelier.

Different by Design project director Mo Trudel says the three companies’ exhibits demonstrate how the funding ‘helps real projects to market their products on an international level’.

The organisation is aiming to have provided funding for a total of 50 projects by December 2006, when the three-year venture will come to an end.
