Water competition is a complete wash out

The competition to create a name for the newly formed water trade association could, in some ways, be regarded as a waste of time. None of the 30 entries was chosen, with the in-house team plumping to call the new operation Water UK instead.

Not such an unusual name, you might think. Could it be the organisation couldn’t afford the 100 prize? A quick look at some of the unsuccessful entries reveals that this probably wasn’t the case. Some of the more amusing suggestions were Water and Sewerage and Water Only Companies Association (WATSCWOCA), WI Association, and Water Treatment and Effluent Council.

However, our favourite is the Clean and Dirty Water Association.
